Fernando J. "Marty" Martinez, born in 1952 in Victorville, California, is the incumbent Delegate for Virginia's 29th House District, assuming office in 2024. He served in the U.S. Air Force for over seven years during the Vietnam War era. After his military service, he utilized the GI Bill to earn Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Computer Science from Portland State University. He then worked as a government contractor. Before his state-level role, Martinez had a long history of local public service in Leesburg, where he moved in 1993. He was first elected to the Leesburg Town Council in 2002 and also served as Vice Mayor. He is married to his wife, Doris, and they have five children.
