Frank W. Bacon

Dr. Frank W. Bacon has served on the Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors since 1990 and is the current Vice Chairman. His family has a tradition of service, with his father and grandfather also having served on the board. Concurrently, he has been a Professor of Finance at Longwood University since 1990 and previously taught at Virginia Commonwealth University and Southside Virginia Community College. He earned a Bachelor of Science in business/accounting from the University of Richmond, and both a Master of Science and a doctorate in finance from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Bacon is also a longtime tobacco, cattle, and grain farmer and served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers. He has co-authored over 60 publications with undergraduate students and is the lead co-author of the "Corporate Financial Management" textbook.
