Henry "Hank" Scharpenberg is a retired U.S. Army combat arms officer who has resided in Stafford since 1997. He holds a bachelor's degree from the United States Military Academy and a master's from George Washington University. Scharpenberg has a history of civic involvement, including chairing the Stafford County Task Force on Illegal Immigration in 2007 and serving as chairman of the Stafford Regional Airport Authority from 2012-2015. He has also served on the Embrey Mill Community Development Authority and the Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee.
