She earned a bachelor's degree from Randolph-Macon College and a master's degree in Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her career experience includes working for her family's beverage distributor, Al Pugh Distributing, where she became vice president. Kent assumed office as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates for District 67 on January 10, 2024. She has also served as the vice chair of the board of directors for the Warsaw Richmond County Main Street Program.
