Claim this profileChris Obenshain is a third-generation resident of Montgomery County and a graduate of Cave Spring High School, Bridgewater College, and the University of Virginia School of Law. He has served for over 22 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, currently holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the JAG Corps. His civilian legal career includes roles as a prosecutor in Montgomery County and Radford, and as an Assistant Attorney General under Ken Cuccinelli. He was first elected to the Virginia House of Delegates for the 41st district in November 2023 and assumed office in January 2024. He comes from a politically active family; his father ran for the Virginia State Senate, and his cousin, Mark Obenshain, is a current state senator. He lives in Blacksburg with his wife and three sons.
