Jacob Bennington graduated from Ferrum College with a degree in religion. He has served as a youth director at a church, a logistics officer in the U.S. Army, and is now a teacher with Fauquier County Public Schools and a helicopter pilot in the Virginia National Guard. Before a deployment, he was studying for a Master's in Education. He and his wife have two children. He previously identified as a moderate Republican but has since changed his political affiliation to the Democratic party.
