James A. "Jay" Leftwich, Jr. is an attorney and a lifelong resident of Chesapeake. He earned his B.S. from James Madison University in 1985 and his J.D. from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 1988. He is a partner at Basnight, Kinser, Leftwich & Nuckolls, P.C. Prior to his election to the House of Delegates in 2013, he served on the Chesapeake School Board from 2002 to 2013.
