James D. Harder is a Montgomery County native and a graduate of Virginia Tech, where he also teaches public policy. He previously worked for U.S. Representative Rick Boucher and has served on the Virginia Board of Forestry. He also directed cs/root, an entrepreneurship hub supporting startups in the New River and Roanoke Valleys. He previously ran for Virginia Delegate. He is married with two children.
