James Gregory is a longtime resident of Drakes Branch. He served with the Virginia State Police for 31 years, retiring as a Master Trooper in 2019. He is the founder and president of the Charlotte County Recreation Association, where he coached youth sports, and is also the founder of the West Point Park and Playground in Drakes Branch. His community involvement includes serving as a former president of the Drakes Branch Dixie Youth Baseball Association, a former member of the Optima Health citizen advisory board, and a former member of the Charlotte County Traffic Safety Committee. He previously ran for town council in 2022.
