Jason S. Ballard

Jason Ballard was born in Pearisburg, Giles County, Virginia. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Concord University, and a Juris Doctor from West Virginia University College of Law. Following the September 11th attacks, he joined the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps. He served combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq and is a decorated Army Officer, having earned a Bronze Star and four Meritorious Service Medals, among other awards. After leaving active duty, he has continued his service in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel. He is now a trial lawyer and owns his own firm. Prior to his state-level role, he served on the Pearisburg Town Council. He was first elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in November 2021 and assumed office in January 2022.
