Jeffrey L. Shafer is the current Treasurer for the city of Harrisonburg, a position he has held since 2008. He is originally from Buena Vista, Virginia, and holds a degree in music from James Madison University. Prior to his role as Treasurer, he served as the chief deputy commissioner of the revenue for Harrisonburg and also worked as a manager, salesperson, and bookkeeper for the Virginia House of Music. He has won five general elections for the position.
