Jeion A. Ward has been a member of the Virginia House of Delegates since 2004, currently representing the 87th district. A lifelong resident of the Hampton Roads area, she graduated from Warwick High School. She later attended Thomas Nelson Community College and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Christopher Newport University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Before her time in the legislature, she worked as a middle school teacher and has been the president of the Hampton Federation of Teachers, AFT Local 4260, since 1998. In the House of Delegates, she serves as the Chair of the Labor and Commerce Committee.
