John B. Baber II has a background in public service, beginning his career as a public high school history teacher in Charlottesville, VA. He earned a bachelor's degree in history from George Mason University and a master's in education from the University of Virginia. He later attended the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the Law Review. His legal career started as a Public Defender in Baltimore City. In 2019, he became an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Staunton. In 2023, he joined the Waynesboro Commonwealth's Attorney's Office as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney, prosecuting a wide range of criminal cases. He lives in Staunton with his wife, Cassondra, and their son.
