He previously spent over a decade as a television news anchor and investigative reporter in Richmond. His public service career began as an intern for President Ronald Reagan, and he later served as Communications Director for U.S. Senator George Allen and Chief Communications Officer for Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. He earned a bachelor's degree from Baylor University. Reid is also the founder and chair of The Virginia Council, an organization focused on defending cultural heritage and promoting civic education. He resides in Richmond with his partner.
