John M. McNeil, Jr. is the Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Roanoke, a position he has held for three years. He has been with the city's Commonwealth's Attorney's office since 2000. In addition to his 25 years of experience as a prosecutor, McNeil served as an Army JAG officer, which included a deployment to Baghdad from 2005 to 2006. For his service in an imminent danger area, he was awarded the Bronze Star. He has also worked as an Adjunct Professor, teaching Criminal Justice and other general education classes.
