Judy Chalkley was born and raised in Prince George County and graduated from Prince George County Public Schools in 1983. Her family has lived in the county for three generations. At the age of 20, she began working as a Communications Officer for the Prince George County Police Department, where she answered 911 calls and dispatched emergency personnel. During her 32 years of service with the county, she held positions as Training Officer and Supervisor, and was involved in daily operations, policy writing, budgets, and staffing before retiring in 2018. In 2024, she was appointed to the Prince George Economic Development Authority Board.
