Karen Keys-Gamarra is an attorney and child advocate. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and moved to Fairfax County in 1990. She earned a bachelor's degree from Tulane University in 1982 and a J.D. from Washington University School of Law in 1987. Her legal career includes private practice and working for nonprofit organizations, focusing on representing children in cases of abuse and neglect. Prior to her election to the House of Delegates, she served as an at-large member of the Fairfax County School Board from 2017 to 2024 and was a member of the Fairfax County Planning Commission. She assumed office as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates on January 10, 2024.
