Kate L. Acuff

Kate Acuff is the incumbent for the Jack Jouett Magisterial District on the Albemarle County School Board, first elected in 2013. She currently serves as the Board Chair. Dr. Acuff has a broad professional background in law, public health, and science. She earned a Master of Science from the University of Colorado, a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, and a Ph.D. and M.P.H. from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Before her board service, she was a consultant for the Virginia Supreme Court's Commission on Mental Health Law Reform and was involved with the Community Mental Health and Wellness Coalition in Charlottesville. She has also served as a district chair for the Albemarle County Democratic Party.
