Kathy Tran currently represents the 18th District in the Virginia House of Delegates. She assumed office in 2018. Born in Vietnam, Tran and her parents fled the country as refugees when she was seven months old. She is a graduate of Duke University and holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan. Before her election, she worked for the National Immigration Forum. Tran was one of the first Asian-American women elected to the Virginia House of Delegates.
