Kelly H. Merricks

Kelly H. Merricks is the incumbent for the Dan River District seat on the Pittsylvania County School Board and currently serves as the Vice-Chairwoman. Born in Gretna, Virginia, her mother was a 12th-grade English teacher for 36 years in the community. Merricks briefly attended medical school before pursuing a career in the nonprofit healthcare system, where she works to provide funding for patients and programs. She also serves as a member of the advisory board and as an instructor for the Institute on Philanthropy at the University of Richmond's School of Professional & Continuing Studies.
