Lance Davis has been a resident of Somerville with his wife, Amy, since 2001. He is a graduate of the Newhouse School at Syracuse University and Boston College Law School. Before his election to the City Council in 2015, he was a founder of Progress Together for Somerville, a group focused on strengthening Somerville Public Schools. His legal career has included a commitment to public interest, such as representing pro bono clients in environmental cases and serving as a voter protection attorney for several Democratic presidential campaigns. He has been actively involved in local politics, supporting progressive candidates. In July 2025, he was elected to serve as President of the City Council.
