Lloyd R. Runnett is a native of Louisa County and has a background in public safety. He served as the Chief of EMS and Special Operations in Henrico County before retiring. He is currently the Executive Director of the Louisa County Resource Council. Runnett has been involved with the school division in various capacities, including volunteering as a firefighter, serving on the Safe Schools Task Force, and acting as an interim athletic trainer. He was appointed to the Mineral District seat in March 2022 to fill a vacancy and was subsequently elected in a special election on November 8, 2022. He attended J. Sergeant Reynolds and Virginia Commonwealth University, focusing on public safety.
