Reverend Louise Scott-Rountree is a lifelong Newark resident who was elected as a Council Member At-Large in May 2022. She holds a degree in Religious Studies and Christian Education from New York Theological Seminary. Scott-Rountree made history as the first woman to serve as Manager of Clergy Affairs for the City of Newark, a role in which she coordinated over 500 faith leaders. She has served under four mayoral administrations. She is the founder of the mentorship initiative Sisters Inspiring Sisters and has been appointed to the Commission on the Status of Women and the City's Homeless Commission.
