Lucy B. Carson

Lucy B. Carson is a retired educator, having served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal of Prince Edward County Middle School. She currently works as the Program Coordinator of the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts at Longwood University. Carson was first elected to the school board in 2017 and has been the chairperson since 2021. She was also elected Chair of the Southern Region of the Virginia School Board Association. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from North Carolina Central University, a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Virginia, and an endorsement in Educational Leadership from Longwood University. She and her husband, a retired teacher, reside in Farmville.
