Mark L. Earley, Jr. is an attorney and the incumbent for the 73rd district, having assumed office in January 2024. Born in Chesapeake, he grew up in Midlothian and attended public schools in Chesterfield County. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.A. in 2009 and earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2015. Prior to his election, he served in Governor Bob McDonnell's administration, worked as a clerk for a federal judge, and practiced law. He and his wife have served as foster parents. He lives in Midlothian with his wife and two sons. His father, Mark Earley Sr., is a former Attorney General of Virginia.
