Mary L. Person

Mary L. Person is a native of Emporia, Virginia, and has worked in public education for over 26 years, including 12 years with children with autism. She currently serves as a middle school principal. Previously, Person served as the Mayor and as a member of the City Council for Emporia. As a teenager, she was involved with the NAACP youth council. She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. Her political engagement is inspired by her parents' example of community service.
