Matthew L. Kersey, Jr. is a Louisa County native and a retired Postmaster with a 30-year career in the US Postal Service. He graduated from the University of Richmond with a degree in Political Science. Kersey has extensive experience in local government, having first been elected to the Louisa County Board of Supervisors at age 19, where he served three terms. After moving to the Town of Louisa, he served for 14 years on the town council, including as Vice-Mayor, and 11 years on the town's planning commission.
