May Nivar is a candidate for Virginia House of Delegates District 57 Election in Glen Allen, Virginia — 2025 General Election. Running as Democratic Party.

May Nivar is a business leader and community advocate with a 30-year career in corporate communications. Born in Philadelphia to Chinese immigrant parents, she grew up working in her family's small restaurant. She earned a B.A. in Journalism from New York University. A resident of the Richmond area for over two decades, Nivar has been an active community leader. Her advocacy for women, Asian Americans, and other underrepresented communities led to her appointment by Governor Terry McAuliffe to the Virginia Asian Advisory Board, where she served as Chair. At the corporate level, she co-founded and chaired Altria's Asian employee resource group. If elected, she would be the first Chinese American in the Virginia General Assembly.
