Maynard Keller grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to Roanoke, Virginia, in the early 1990s. He has a background as a high school computer science teacher and has been a Certified Financial Planner for many years, owning American Financial Planning since 2006. He is a founding elder at his Messianic synagogue. Keller has been involved in various community organizations and previously ran for Roanoke City Council in 2020 and 2022. He is running as an Independent for the House of Delegates in District 38.
