Metin "Matt" Cay is the incumbent Sheriff for the City of Falls Church. He first took office in 2020, succeeding the retiring Sheriff Stephen Bittle. Before becoming Sheriff, Cay served as a police officer in Falls Church and also practiced law in Virginia for two decades. He began his service with the Falls Church Sheriff's office as the chief deputy in October 2016.
