Michelle Ann E. Lopes Maldonado

Michelle Ann E. Lopes Maldonado is the incumbent representative for the 20th District in the Virginia House of Delegates, a position she has held since 2022 (representing the 50th district before redistricting). She is a former technology lawyer and founder of Lucenscia, a strategic advisory firm. Maldonado earned her Bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies and Spanish from Barnard College at Columbia University and a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law Law School. Her political career was inspired by the murders of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd, and the January 6th Capitol attack. She serves on several committees, including Courts of Justice, Privileges & Elections, and Communications, Technology and Innovation.
