Narendra R. Pleas is the current Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Suffolk, and was the first woman and first African American to hold the office. She has extensive prosecutorial experience in several Virginia jurisdictions, including serving as a Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney in Norfolk and Suffolk, and as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for Sussex County and the City of Emporia/Greensville County. Pleas earned her Juris Doctor from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science from Agnes Scott College. She is a graduate of Green Run High School in Virginia Beach and the Governor's School for the Arts in Norfolk.
