Nathan Metts was born and raised in Jones County and currently resides in the Comfort area. He is a Police Captain with the Kinston Police Department, where he began his law enforcement career in 2008. He has held various roles, including patrol officer, Gang Investigator, and SWAT Team Sniper. Metts holds an Intermediate and Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate from the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission and is a graduate of the West Point Leadership Program at Methodist University. He earned an Associate in Applied Science in Criminal Justice Technology from Lenoir Community College.
