Owen Thomas

Owen Thomas grew up in Ames, Iowa, and Cary, North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he earned an undergraduate degree in business administration and was a member of the football team for five years. He later completed his Master of Business Administration in May 2013. He is currently serving his first term on the Lumberton City Council and also serves as the Lumberton Mayor Pro Tem. Professionally, he works as a Senior Account Executive at Dial Insurance Agency and is a Real Estate Broker with Remax. Thomas is actively involved in his community, serving on the NC League of Municipalities Board of Directors and other boards by legislative appointment. His community involvement includes the Kiwanis club, the Robeson County Humane Society, and the local chambers of commerce. He has received several recognitions, including Kiwanian of the year in 2015, young insurance agent of the year in 2018, and was named one of the Fayetteville Observer 40 under 40 in 2020.
