Patrick L. Bales earned his B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1993 and his J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2000. He served as a Public Defender from 2001 through 2008 in Franklin and Newport News. During his time as a Public Defender, he also served as a trial skills coach for the Indigent Defense Commission. After 2008, he focused on DUI/DWI defense and co-authored a book on the subject. He currently operates his own law practice with offices in Virginia Beach and Newport News, specializing in criminal and traffic defense.
