Richard C. "Rip" Sullivan, Jr. is an incumbent member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 6th district. He has served in the House since a special election in 2014. Sullivan and his wife, Beth, have lived in McLean for over 50 years and have four adult children. He graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College in 1981 and earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1987. For over 30 years, he has practiced as a commercial litigation attorney and is currently a partner at the law firm Bean Kinney & Korman, P.C. in Arlington. Before his legal career, he was involved in the creation of the United States Institute of Peace. He is the former president of Northern Virginia Legal Services, which provides free legal counsel to low-income residents.
