Bob Beard is a former broadcast journalist and a long-time resident of Ivy, Virginia. His career includes roles as a news anchor at CBS19 in Charlottesville and a reporter in Washington, D.C., for outlets like CNN and NBC News. He also worked as a spokesperson and science writer for the UVA Health System. Beard holds a BA from Vanderbilt University and an MA from Georgetown University. He has been actively involved in local schools, serving as a PTO co-president and on various committees. His twin sons graduated from Western Albemarle High School. He currently serves on the Albemarle County Board of Equalization.
