Robert L. (Lee) Ware, Jr. was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on August 20, 1952. He has served in the Virginia House of Delegates since 1998. He earned a B.A. in History and Literature from Wheaton College and has pursued graduate studies at several institutions, including Harvard University and Virginia Commonwealth University. Before his political career, Ware worked as a journalist and a teacher of History and Government at Powhatan High School and Blessed Sacrament Huguenot Academy. He also served on the Powhatan Board of Supervisors from 1988 to 1996. He is a Roman Catholic and resides in Powhatan County.
