Robert Liero was appointed to the Board of Supervisors for the Shawnee District in January 2024 and won a special election in November 2024 to serve the remainder of the term until December 31, 2025. He served in the Virginia Army National Guard for 21 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Liero had a 37-year career in education, working for 13 years as a teacher and 24 years as an administrator. He was an assistant principal at Millbrook High School and the Dowell J. Howard Center within Frederick County Public Schools before retiring in June 2023.
