Samantha 'Sam' Squailia is the 46th Mayor of Fitchburg, elected on November 7, 2023, and is a lifelong resident of the city. Prior to her mayoralty, she served for six years as a City Councilor-at-Large, first elected in 2017. Mayor Squailia has a professional background in architecture and engineering spanning over two decades as a designer and project manager. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Building Engineering from the New England Institute of Technology and is working towards a Master of Architecture from the Boston Architectural College. She also holds a Master's Certificate in Sustainable Building Design from Boston Architectural College and another in Regulatory Affairs in Cannabis Control from Clark University. Additionally, she is the owner of a small business named RusticCraft.
