Shonya Mapp was sworn into office as the District 5 member of the Milledgeville City Council in December 2022. She also serves as the Baldwin Family Engagement Coordinator for the Baldwin County School District. In April 2024, she received the Drum Major For Justice Award from the Macon-Bibb County Southern Christian Leadership Conference for her community service. Her educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia College & State University and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from Capella University.
