Stephen 'Steve' Heretick has over 30 years of legal experience. He began his career as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Department of Justice's Criminal Division. He later entered private practice in Portsmouth. Heretick served on the Portsmouth City Council from 2004 to 2012 and represented the 79th District in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2016 to 2021, where he served on the House Courts of Justice Committee. He earned a B.A. from William & Mary and a J.D. from Villanova University.
