Susan L. Draper

Susan L. Draper is a lifelong resident of Suffolk and the incumbent Commissioner of the Revenue, a role she has held since October 1, 2014. She previously served as the Chief Deputy Commissioner of the Revenue starting in 2007. With over 24 years of experience in a Commissioner of the Revenue's office, she has been with the City of Suffolk's office since 2006. Draper is a graduate of the former Forest Glen High School, the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School, and Old Dominion University. She is also a Certified Public Accountant and has been designated as a Master Commissioner of the Revenue from the Weldon Cooper Center at the University of Virginia.
