Trevor A. Cockburn grew up in Harrisonburg, Virginia and currently resides in Dayton. He is an instructional technologist at James Madison University (JMU) and also serves as an adjunct professor in JMU's College of Education. He earned a Bachelor of Individualized Studies in Educational Media and Photography in 2019 and a Master of Education in Educational Technology in 2022, both from JMU. His work involves introducing new technologies into classrooms. Cockburn is also an award-winning freelance sports photographer. In July 2025, he was appointed to the Dayton Town Council to fill a vacancy.
