Victoria L. Proffitt

Victoria L. Proffitt is the incumbent Chesapeake Commissioner of Revenue, first elected on November 2, 2021. A resident of Chesapeake for over 35 years, she previously served on the Chesapeake School Board from 2012 to 2021, including as Chairman from 2018 to 2021. Her professional background includes over 35 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and taxation, as well as 17 years as a secondary mathematics teacher. Proffitt holds a Master of Education from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Norfolk State University. She has earned the Master Commissioner of Revenue Certification from the University of Virginia.
