Wendy Sellars previously served on the Thomasville City Council from 2015 to 2023. She also served on the Thomasville City Schools Board of Education from 2011 to 2015 and currently serves on the board again. She has a background in law enforcement as a correctional officer. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina Central University. She has also run for the North Carolina House of Representatives in 2018 and 2020.
