Zaida Govan

Zaida Govan is a clinical social worker and community activist. She earned a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree from Springfield College. Her career began as a supervisor for an outpatient substance abuse program with Catholic Charities, and she later worked as a clinical director at Martin Luther King Jr. Family Services. Govan has previously run for the Springfield Public Schools school board in 2013 and 2017. She is also the proprietor of Listening With Love, a counseling and therapy service. In her personal life, Govan has shared the experience of losing her son to a fentanyl overdose, which informs her advocacy on addiction issues.
