George Griffin is the current Chair of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education, where he has also served as vice chair. He has approximately 50 years of experience in public education as a special education teacher, high school principal, central office administrator, and a university professor at North Carolina Central University. He received his PhD in Special Education from UNC-Chapel Hill. A resident of Chapel Hill for over 40 years, both of his children graduated from CHCCS schools.
