J.p. Cooney

J.P. Cooney is an attorney, husband, and father. He served for nearly two decades as a federal prosecutor, notably as Chief of the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Fraud, Public Corruption, and Civil Rights Section, and as Deputy Chief in the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Section. He is currently a partner at Gaston & Cooney PLLC. Cooney is running for Congress to defend the rule of law and fight for democracy. He aims to stand up to powerful interests, holding individuals like Donald Trump accountable, and to ensure the economy works for hardworking Americans, getting Congress functioning effectively again.
