Tara Anne Durant, born October 26, 1972, is an American politician and former educator. A Republican, she currently serves as a member of the Virginia Senate, representing District 27, which includes Fredericksburg and parts of Spotsylvania and Stafford counties. She assumed office in 2024, following a term in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2022 to 2024. Durant has declared her candidacy for the U.S. House to represent Virginia's 7th Congressional District in the 2026 election, where she plans to challenge the Democratic incumbent.
